Complaint results in arrest of an individual wanted on several warrants - Laurel County


Laurel County, KY - Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Sgt. Larry Parrott arrested Shaunda Helton age 36 of Petersonburg Rd., Barbourville early Tuesday morning September 20, 2016 at approximately 2:42 AM.

The arrest occurred at a business off West Cumberland Gap Pkwy. approximately 9 miles south of London after Sgt. Parrott received a complaint of subjects at a business there attempting to solicit money from customers, cursing employees who had asked them to leave several times and creating a disturbance there.

The subjects were not located, however later Sgt. Parrott received additional information and located a female subject matching the description of an earlier suspect, and found her hiding in a restroom at the business and conducted an investigation and determined that she was under the influence – she admitted taking Neurotin earlier.

Shaunda Helton was charged with public intoxication – controlled substances; criminal trespassing – third-degree; and disorderly conduct – second-degree.

In addition, this subject was wanted on a Knox County warrant of arrest obtained by Deputy Chad Wagner of the Knox County Sheriff's office charging theft of identity of another without consent; theft by unlawful taking under $500; and theft – receipt of stolen credit/debit card.

This subject was also charged on three other Knox County bench warrants of arrest charging failure to appear in court on charges of public intoxication – controlled substances; theft by unlawful taking under $500; and public intoxication – controlled substances.

This subject was lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
