Wanted man arrested after 3 found passed out in SUV - Whitley County


WCSD Press Release | Sep 21, 2016 | - Around 4 p.m. September 18, 2016, Whitley County E911 received a complaint that a maroon Dodge Durango was located in the Maple Creek community with two male and one female occupants appearing to be under the influence or unconscious.

Upon arrival, deputies found two men and one woman non-alert and in their undergarments.

One occupant, David Allen Randle, 30, of Corbin was recognized as a wanted person. Deputy Jonas Saunders had obtained an arrest warrant for Randle which included charges of fleeing or evading police and wanton endangerment due to a July 2016 incident.

The female, Chelsea Cornett, 24, of Evarts, and the other male occupant, Daniel Melton, 29, of Corbin, were also taken into custody.

Randle was arrested and faces a long list of charges, which can be read in full at www.whitleycountydetention.com.

Cornett was arrested and charged with second-degree disorderly conduct and public intoxication.

Melton was charged with first-degree disorderly conduct, resisting arrest and public intoxication.

All three were lodged in the Whitley County Detention Center. Dep. Saunders, Dep. James Taber and Kentucky State Police Trooper Jeremy Elliott were involved in the investigation.
