Laurel County, KY - Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Deputy Brandon Broughton and Deputy Rick Cloyd investigated a two vehicle injury traffic crash which occurred on Langnau Road near the intersection of Gilliam Lane, approximately 10 miles east of London on Wednesday afternoon October 5, 2016 at approximately 2:03 PM.
The investigating deputies report that apparently a white colored extended cab Chevrolet pickup struck a Laurel County dump truck in the rear.
A worker was present flagging traffic, however, the driver of the pickup stated that she had spilled her sweet tea and she had looked off the roadway momentarily before hitting the truck in the rear.
The operator of the truck was exiting his vehicle when the crash occurred and received an injury to his hand and was identified as Jeffrey Benge age 46 of Maplesville Rd, London-- treated by EMS at the scene.
The driver of the Chevrolet pickup was identified as Pamela Brock age 59 of Ft. Wayne, Indiana – transported by Ambulance Inc. Laurel County to St. Joseph Hospital London for treatment of injuries.
Assisting at the scene was Ambulance Inc. of Laurel County and McWhorter Volunteer Fire Department. Also assisting was the county road department and an official from the County judge's office.
