Man wanted on a Leslie County bench warrant arrested at traffic crash on north U.S. 25


Laurel County, KY - Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Sgt. Brett Reeves arrested Charles Sandlin age 46 of Douglas Blvd., Corbin on Wednesday morning October 19, 2016 at approximately 10:45 AM.

This subject was arrested after apparently being involved in a non-injury traffic crash on US 25 approximately 2 miles north of London.

When Sgt. Reeves arrived at the scene he learned that this subject had been driving a black colored Pontiac Grand Am and was apparently driving on DUI suspended license.

An investigation was conducted and Sgt. Reeves determined that in addition this subject had another persons EBT card and had outstanding warrants also.

Charles Sandlin was charged with driving on DUI suspended license – second offense; failure of owner to maintain required insurance – second offense; and other traffic violations.

In addition, the subject was charged with knowingly fraudulently using ID card or electronic code for benefits – this subject had another persons EBT card in his possession. Also, the subject was charged on a Leslie County bench warrant of arrest for failure to appear in court.

This individual was lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
