Mrs. Minnie Smith, age 94 of Blue Hole departed this life on Tuesday, November 22, 2016 at her home. She was born on Monday, May 1, 1922 in Clay County, Kentucky to the union of Dan and Betty Hatfield Goins. She was a homemaker and a member of the New Home Baptist Church.
She leaves to mourn her passing her children: Clyde Smith, Beve Smith and his wife Sally, Walker Smith and his wife Marietta, Ed Smith, Jr. and his wife Carol, Carolyn Dezarn, Russell Smith, Betty Ely, and Joan Diedrich and her husband John. Also surviving are 11 grandchildren: Cynthia Philpot, Teresa Hall, Jason Smith, Donnie Smith, Kevin Smith, Matthew Dezarn, Travis Smith, John Diedrich, Craig Diedrich, Jessica Smith, Jeremy Smith and Chase Mize. Also surviving are 17 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren and her brother: Lewis Goins.
She is preceded in death by her parents: Dan and Betty Goins, her husband: Ed “Rabbit” Smith, and her brothers and sisters: Hester Smith, Ida Bowling, Steve Goins, Jr., Mose Goins, Daugh Goins, Frank Goins, Shade Goins, Grant Goins, her son-in-law: Paul “Spoolie” Dezarn and her grandson: Eddie Smith.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Minnie Smith will be conducted on Saturday, November 26 at 12 PM at the Rominger Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Herbert “Tip” Minton and Rev. Darrell Bargo will be officiating. Burial will follow in the Enjine Cemetery in the Blue Hole Community.
Visitation will be on Friday evening after 6 PM at the Rominger Funeral Home Chapel.
