Mary Magdalene Bowling, 88, of Big Creek, KY, departed this life on Saturday, December 3rd, 2016 at the Manchester Memorial Hospital.
Mary Magdalene was born on January 5th, 1928, to the union of Daugh and Sybil Henson. Mary Magdalene was a devout Christian woman who loved and served the Lord.
Mary Magdalene was preceded in death by her husband Odas Bowling, her sons D.J. and Vernon Bowling, Great grandson Jonah Bryon Woods, Her parents Daugh and Sybil Henson, and the following sisters: Cleo Henson and Sarah Katherine Jones.
Mary Magdalene Leaves surviving the following children: Delbert Bowling and his wife Wanda, London, KY, Earl Bowling and his wife Brenda, Manchester, KY, Beatrice Sandquist, Rockford, IL, Bernice Collins and her husband Leonard Jr. Manchester, KY, Odas Bowling Jr., Big Creek, KY, Roy Bowling and his wife Sandy, Manchester, KY, and Lorene Hubbard and her husband James, Big Creek, KY. She also leaves behind fourteen grandchildren, thirty four great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren, and the following sisters: Flora Holland, Deloris Thomas, Irene Jones, Betty Lou Henson, Edith Napier, Becky Faye Boyd, and Bonnie Lou Gilliam, and a host of family and friends to mourn her death.
The family of Mary Magdalene would like to thank the Manchester Memorial Hospital nursing staff, Dr. Hays, and the Clay County Hospice for their wonderful care of Mary. The family also thanks the wonderful pastors of numerous churches, families, and friends for the prayers, love, and caring for Mary.
The funeral service will be held 2 PM Tuesday December 6th, 2016 at the Britton Funeral Home Chapel with Roy Lane Woods and Billy Shawn Thompson officiating. Burial will follow in the Goose Rock Cemetery at Goose Rock.
Visitation will be after 6 PM Monday at the Britton Funeral Home Chapel.
