Tunis Burkhart McQueen was born on May 7th, 1943. She went to be with the Lord on January 19th, 2017 at her home.
She is survived by her husband, Theo McQueen and the following children, Rissie Roberts and husband Richard of Scottsville, Lois Ann Hunter and husband Bige of Manchester, Leroy McQueen and wife Rosalie of Tyner, Janet Smith and husband John of London, Leon McQueen and wife Shirley of McKee, Karen Gregory and husband Cecil of Scottsville, Dorothy Hoblit and husband Jason of McKee, one step-son Jeff McQueen and wife Ruby of Scottsville.
She is also survived by one sister, Lois Henson of Manchester and three brothers, Cloyd Burkhart and wife Margrat of Lancaster, Ohio, Wilburn Sawyers of Paris, Ky and Arnold Sawyers of Manchester.
She is also leaving behind 20 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, George Burkhart and Rachel Burkhart Sawyers and step-dad Joe Sawyers, one daughter Debbie McQueen, 4 sisters, 3 brothers and 2 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 1 PM Monday, January 23rd, 2017 at the Britton Funeral Home Chapel with Carmen Brewer officiating. Burial will follow in the Piney Grove Cemetery.
Visitation will be held after 6 PM Sunday, January 22nd, 2017 at the Britton Funeral Home Chapel.
Pallbearers will be Jason Hoblit, Chris McQueen, Brandon McQueen, Anthony Hunter, Matthew Rose and Richard Hunter.
Britton Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
