Merkie Lipps Carpenter, age 79, of London, formerly of Manchester, passed away Thursday March 15th, 2018 at her home.
Merkie was a member of the Shady Grove Baptist Church in London, KY.
She is survived by her husband Cartis Carpenter and the following children: Carlos Doc Carpenter, Gary Carpenter, Jerri Bruner, Betty Prichard, Sharon "Shug" Cox, Melissa Reynolds, and Ruth Henson, all of London.
She is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents Carlo and Mary Betty Lipps and two brothers R.D. and T.J. Lipps.
The funeral service for Merkie will be held 2 PM Sunday March 18th, 2018 at the Britton Funeral Home Chapel with David Smith, Morris Thompson, and Tess Lipps officiating. Burial will follow in the Manchester Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be after 6 PM Saturday at the Britton Funeral Home Chapel.
