Eugene Ray, age 67 of Sextons Creek, passed away Saturday June 23rd, 2018 at the Manchester Memorial Hospital.
He was born October 24th, 1949 in Oneida, KY to the union of Elmer and Beulah Grubb Ray, who preceded him in death.
He was a former employee of Mid South Electronics at Sextons Creek and a farmer. He was a member of the Ells Branch Baptist Church. He is survived by two children: Pam Smith and her husband Gary "Tick" Smith, and Peggy Byrd and her husband Ricky Byrd, all of Sextons Creek. He also leaves his special friend, Cleo Hopper.
He is also survived by these grandchildren: Noah Smith, Courtney Smith, and Patrick Byrd, as well as his great grandchildren Lacey and Lucas Smith and one great grandchild due to be born in November 2018. He also leaves his sisters, Hazel Smith of Hector, Carolyn Frye of Booneville and his brother, James Ellis Ray of Ell's Branch.
In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by his sister Roxie Hyden, and his brother Willis Ray.
Funeral services for Eugene Ray will be held 11 AM Tuesday June 26th, 2018 at the Britton Funeral Home Chapel with Jason Moore and Mitchell Ball officiating. Burial will follow in the Ball Cemetery at Sextons Creek.
Visitation will be after 6 PM Monday at the Britton Funeral Home Chapel.
