Charlotte Marie Walker Baker, age 58 of Island Creek, passed away Sunday July 1, 2018 at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington, Kentucky.
Charlotte was born on October 7,1959 In Cincinnati, Ohio to the union of Lane and Joyce Hacker Walker, who preceded her in death. She was a retired teacher in the Clay County Public School System, having taught for 28 years at Laurel Creek Elementary, Goose Rock Elementary and Horse Creek Elementary. She was also a member of the Morgan Branch Pentecostal Church.
She leaves surviving her husband, Robert Lowell Baker and two children: Amanda Lane Allen and her husband Kevin, and Andrew Robert Baker and his fiancé Terae Reed, all of Island Creek. She also leaves her brother, David Lane Walker and his wife Kathy of London, her aunt, Martha Joyce Smith of Plank, Kentucky, and her mother in law, Jewell Baker of Manchester.
In addition to her parents, Charlotte was preceded in death by her grandparents, Curt and Malvery Burns Hacker and Ralph and Sallie Lipps Walker.
Charlotte also leaves many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends to mourn her passing.
Funeral Services for Charlotte Marie Walker Baker will be held 2:00 PM Friday July 6, 2018 at the Britton Funeral Home Chapel with Tim Reid, Tony Marcum and Shirley Joe Smith officiating. Burial will follow at the Coldiron Cemetery in the Laurel Creek community.
Visitation will be after 6:00 PM Thursday July 5th at the Britton Funeral Home Chapel.
