Mr. Raleigh Downey, age 58 of Manchester departed this life on Friday, September 21, 2018. He was born on Saturday, August 27, 1960 in Manchester to Charles Douglas and Fay Reid Downey. He was a master roofer, loved to fish and hunt, he was a trail rider extraordinaire and a jack of many trades.
He leaves to mourn his passing his loving wife Connie Minton Downey, his daughters who he loved so dear Trinity Nichole Downey and Rebecca Cheyene Downey and her boyfriend Gilbert and the following brothers and sisters: Vanda Downey, Rhonda Hollin, John Downey, Janet Philpot, Betty Sharon Collins, Larry Downey, Norma Lee Downey, Johnny Downey, Lynn Downey and Douglas Wayne Downey, his half-brother: James Downey and his half-sisters: Angie Downey and Veronica Smith as well as a host of many nieces, nephews, family, friends and other loved ones.
A Celebration of Raleigh’s life will be conducted on Tuesday, September 25, 2018 at 2:00 PM at the Horse Creek Baptist Church. Rev. Charles Raleigh will be presiding. Interment will follow with an ATV and UTV escort to the Owens Cemetery in the Urban Creek Community.
Visitation will be held on Monday evening after 6:00 PM at the Horse Creek Baptist Church.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Rominger Funeral Home.
