Georgia Mae Byrd, 86, of Sextons Creek, KY, passed away Tuesday, October 2nd, at the Manchester Memorial Hospital.
Georgia was born in Sextons Creek, KY on February 20, 1932, a daughter of the late Elizabeth (Scott) and Lucian Peters. She was a member of the Mount Carmel Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Byrd.
Georgia is survived by her children: Brenda Byrd, Norma Byrd and Douglas Byrd.
She is also survived by her sister, Dathia Bell; by her grandchildren: Jody, David, Christopher, Jerry Napier and wife Beth, Alexandria Napier, Issac Napier and Adam Napier; 6 great grandchildren: Serenity, Breanna, Caleb, Kyara, Amiah and Ryland; and by many nieces, nephews and friends.
In addition to her husband and parents, Georgia was preceded in death by 3 sons: Jimmy Byrd, Larry Byrd and Gary Byrd; and the following brother and sisters: Billy Peters, Wilma Couch and Esther Peters.
Services will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, October 7th at Britton Funeral Home in Manchester, KY , with Brian Collett, Landon McDaniel and Rick Mason officiating. Burial will follow at the Edwards Cemetery on Sextons Creek.
Visitation will be held 6:00 PM on Saturday, October 6th at Britton Funeral Home in Manchester, KY.
