Robert Jones, 74, of Jonesboro, AR, passed away Wednesday, January 23rd, at the NEA Baptist Memorial Hospital in Jonesboro, AR.
He was is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Shirley "Corky" Jones of Jonesboro, AR.
He is also survived by his children: Sally (Chris) Jones, Robert (Julia) Jones Jr., James Jones, Joseph (Jacqueline) Jones and Kacey (Eric) Young; and by the following grandchildren: Alexander, Robert III, Makayla, Braeleigh, Izabellah, Hannah, Hayden, Chloe, Samuel, Damon and Ava, all of Jonesboro, AR.
Robert was preceded in death by his mother, Sallie Spurlock Jones, his father, Robert North Jones, his sister, Vivian Backus and his brother, Hughes Jones.
Robert worked for all 4 main line railroads ending his career as an officer of the Union Pacific Railroad. He was a Vietnam Veteran USAF 61-68. He loved the Lord and was baptized on 6/29/98. He loved the news and playing chess; he was a collector of knives and guns, loved technology, enjoyed anything his daughter-in-law baked and his wife's fried chicken. He was the greatest father and husband.
Services will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, January 27th at Britton Funeral Home in Manchester, KY, with Ken Bolin officiating. Burial will at the Spurlock Cemetery on Oneida.
