Obituary for Erma Jewell Edwards

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Erma Jewell Edwards, who peacefully entered into the presence of her Lord and Savior on April 28th at the age of 91 at her home in Manchester surrounded by her family.

Erma Jewell was a devoted wife, a loving mother, a proud grandmother, great-grandmother, and was awaiting the arrival of her first great-great-grandchildren later this year. Her life was a testament to faith, devotion to family, and unconditional love. She was the heart of her family, nurturing generations with wisdom, grace, kindness, and a steadfast spirit.

A woman of strong Christian faith, Erma Jewell lived her beliefs daily through her gentleness, generosity, and prayerful spirit. She had a profound love for God's creation, finding joy and wonder in nature - particularly wildlife and flowers, especially peonies, which she cherished throughout her life.

Erma's legacy is one of deep devotion: to her Lord, to her family, and to the simple, beautiful things in life. One of her greatest joys was singing sweet songs to the little ones in her family - always followed by a not so gentle pinch on their cheeks, a tradition that brought smiles across generations. Her legacy of devotion to God and family will continue to inspire those she leaves behind.

She is preceded in death by her husband BC Edwards, her father and mother, John D and Myrtle Smallwood, and her brothers: Stafford, TJ, Clifford, Lonnie, and Ronnie, as well as one grandchild, two great grandchildren.

She is survived by her baby brother that she raised as her own, John D Smallwood, her children: Tony and wife Debbie, Anita, Johnny and wife Debbie, Jimmy and wife Vicki, Nancy and husband Paul, Susie and husband Doyle, and Cindy and husband Mark; 12 grandchildren, and 27 great-grandchildren and was awaiting the arrival of number 28 and the arrival of 2 great great grandchildren She is also survived by the following sisters and brother Dorothy, Claudia, Alphie, Alma, Brenda, and Clyde along with countless extended family members and friends whose lives she touched so deeply.

Though our hearts are broken, we take comfort in knowing that she has been welcomed into eternal life, where her joy is complete.

A celebration of Erma Jewell's life will be held at 12:00 PM on Friday, May 2nd at Britton Funeral Home, with Johnathon Edwards and Tony Edwards officiating. Burial will follow in the Hubbard Cemetery on Goose Rock.
