Obituary for Carl Napier

Carl Napier, beloved patriarch of our family, passed away peacefully at home on May 16, 2025. He was born July 13, 1941, in Leslie County KY. Preceded in death by parents, Fred & Emma Napier, and beloved son, Carl Wayne Napier.

Carl was a dedicated and hard worker, achieving anything he aspired to do. His achievements included certifications as Mining Forman & Mining Inspector and Commissioned Kentucky Colonel. In 1982, he relocated from Leslie County to Clay County and established Napier's Auto Sales with son, Freddie. Carl was an avid hunter, loving anything outdoors, but his greatest pleasure was spending time with his family.

Left to cherish his memory is his loving and devoted wife of 65 years, Gladys (Bowling) Napier; one son Freddie Napier (Debbie) of Big Creek, KY; four grandchildren: Latrese Curry (Josh) of London, KY; Brooke, Freddie Wayne and Austin Napier of Big Creek, KY; three great-grandchildren: Lexi Frederick, Haydyn and Raelee Curry of London, KY; one sister Juanita Sizemore of Hyden, KY, two sisters-in-law, Juanita Curry of Harlan, KY, and Ora Begley of Corbin, KY. Additionally, Carl loved, and was loved, by many nieces and nephews, and so many wonderful neighbors & friends too numerous to mention.

Carl will live on in the memories and hearts of those who knew and loved him. His warm personality & welcoming smile will forever be missed.

Services for Carl will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, May 20th, at Britton Funeral Home, with Pastor Larry Stubblefield and Steve May officiating. Burial will follow at the Napier Cemetery in Big Creek, KY.

Visitation for Carl will be held at 6:00 PM on Monday, May 19th, at Britton Funeral Home.
