James Robert Deaton, 69, of Oneida, KY, passed away Thursday, June 5th, at his home. James was born on April 21st, 1956, a son of the late Burkey and Etta Barger Deaton.
James is survived by his children: Simon Douglas of Oneida, Paul Wagers of Oneida, James Oakley Deaton (Laura) of Oneida, William Robert Wells of Oneida, Kevin Wells of Jeffersonville, IN, James Winn Long of Louisville, Sandra Kay Childers (Dillon) of Somerset, Christina Cain (Bo) of Louisville, and Susie Long of Louisville.
He is also survived by his siblings, Carl Edward Deaton of Oneida and Janet Abner of Manchester; and by 15 grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, James is preceded in death by his siblings, Donald, Billie Jean, Patricia Gibson, Elizabeth Wells, Joanne Long, Alicee Barger, and Martha Faye.
Services for James will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, June 10th, at Britton Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Deaton Cemetery in Oneida.
