Mr. James M. Samples

James M. Samples, 65, of Beech Creek, was born, September 25, 1947, passed away, Wednesday, May 1st, 2013 at the Manchester Memorial Hospital.

He was a dedicated educator in Clay County for over 40 years and former principal of Manchester Elementary School. He was a 40 year member of Clay Lodge #798 F&AM. He also served as a fireman for over 25 years.

He is survived by his wife: Susan Samples, of Beech Creek, and one son, Bryan Samples, and wife, Kendra, along with two grandsons, Trevor and Cole Samples, of Greenbriar.

He is also survived by his mother: Ruby Samples, of Beech Creek, one brother, Roger Samples, and wife, Reecia, of Beech Creek, and one sister, Peggy Brown, and husband, John Russell, of Oneida.

Also surviving are three nephews, Brandon Samples, and wife, Celia, of Manchester, John Ed Brown, of San Antonio, Texas, and Lee Tyler Brown, of Oneida, three great nieces, and one sister-in-law, Karla Morris and James Caudill, of Greenbriar.

He is preceded in death by his father: Ed Samples.

Funeral services for James M. Samples will be at 8 PM Friday at the Britton Funeral Home Chapel with Curtis Wagers and Charlie Goodman officiating. There will be a Masonic service at 7 PM. Burial will be in the Manchester Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be after 5 PM Friday at the Britton Funeral Home.
