Mr. Billy Ray “Bill” Fortner, age 68 of Manchester, departed this life on Wednesday, April 9, 2014 at the Knox County Hospital in Barbourville, Kentucky.
He was born on Sunday, March 3, 1946 in North Carolina to the union of Roy and Ruby Goforth Fortner.
He leaves to mourn his passing his daughter: Vickie Fortner Shepherd of Manchester, 2 grandchildren: Baileigh Shepherd and Bobby Russell Jones, 2 sisters: Vickie Hudgins and April Whitaker both of North Carolina and 2 brothers: Bobby Fortner and Richard Fortner of North Carolina.
He is preceded in death by his parents: Roy and Ruby Fortner, his wife: Mary Hooker Fortner, 2 brothers: Carl Fortner and Charles Fortner and his sister: Geraldine Poole.
Funeral Services for Mr. Billy Ray “Bill” Fortner will be conducted on Monday, April 14, at 2 PM at the Rominger Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Herbert Minton will be officiating. Burial will follow in the Hooker Cemetery in the Blue Hole Community.
Visitation will be held on Monday after 12 PM at the Rominger Funeral Home Chapel.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Rominger Funeral Home.
