Mr. Glenn Combs

Mr. Glenn Combs, age 96 of London, formerly of Clay County, departed this life on Monday, November 17, 2014 at his home.

He was born on Monday, October 7, 1918 in Little Goose Community of Clay County to the union of Green A. and Gussie Nicholson Combs. He was an accountant at Interstate Coal Company and retired from the James River Coal Company, he was a member of the 1st Baptist Church of London and a veteran the United States 1st Armored Division of the Army where he served in the Kasserine Pass, North Africa and Anzio, Italy.

He leaves to mourn his passing his daughter: Charlotte Combs Cheak and her husband Mike of Florence, Kentucky, his sons: Gary Glenn Combs and his wife: Anne of Houston, Texas and William Scott Combs of London, 5 grandchildren: Hope Smith and her husband Ron of Hebron, Kentucky, Amy Huckleberry and her husband John of Louisville, Kentucky, Roxanne Roberts of London, Jamie Carmeli and her husband: Kfir of Houston, Texas, and Logan Rawlings of Houston, Texas. Also surviving are 5 great grandchildren: Edmund and Eleyna Smith, Caroline Huckleberry, Kason and Kali Reed, a special friend: Ada McPhetridge, and these special care givers: Thelma Gross, Irene Hubbs, and Darlene Robinson.

He is preceded in death by his parents: Green A. and Gussie Combs, his wife: Della Combs, and these brothers and sisters: Bob Nicholson, Charlie Combs, Toleman Combs, Mable Pennington, Isabelle Combs, and Evelyn Combs.

Funeral services for Mr. Glenn Combs will be conducted on Friday, November 21 at 3 PM at the Rominger Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Terry Lester will be officiating. Burial will follow in the Combs Cemetery in the Little Goose Community with Military Honors.

Visitation will begin after 1 PM on Friday at the Rominger Funeral Home Chapel.
