Birchel Bert Griffie, Jr., 76, of Big Creek, passed away Thursday December 4th, 2014 at the Manchester Memorial Hospital.
He is survived by his wife Elouise of Big Creek and the following children: Ronald Griffie and wife Margaret, Hazard, Wendy Gail Griffie, Hazard, Bonnie Lisa Allen and husband Bill, Big Creek, and Theresa Hoskins, Houston, TX.
He is also survived by two brothers Raymond Griffie and Larry Ray Griffie both of Hazard, and one sister Bodie Huff, Ohio, as well as 8 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents Birchel and Victoria Griffie, his brother Carl Griffie, and sister Martha Mout Wall.
The funeral service will be held 12 Noon Sunday December 7th, 2014 at the Britton Funeral Home Chapel with John Pugh officiating. Burial will follow in the Bowling Cemetery at Big Creek. Visitation will be after 6 PM Saturday at the Britton Funeral Home.
