Zola Hampton, age 91 of Bush, Ky. went home to be with the Lord on Monday, February 23, 2015.
She is survived by her five children; Ford Hampton and wife Maryann of Berea Ky, Donny Hampton and wife Lovella of Wollum Ky, Lonnie Hampton, Sandra Hampton, Charles Glen Hampton all of London Ky and four grandchildren; James Hampton and wife Shamekia of Berea Ky, Sean Hampton and wife Kristi of Wollum Ky, Nicole Hampton of Berea Ky and Marquetta Moore and husband Pete of Bardstown Ky.
She is also survived by her sister Verna Napier of Manchester, one brother L.D. Sawyers of California, her great grandchildren; Whitney Hampton, Braydon Hubbard, Savannah Rogers, Jordan Hampton, Molli Hampton, Micah Moore, Max Moore, Connor Hampton, Abigail Hampton, Kullen Hampton, Drake Mundy, many nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
She is preceded in death by her husband Fount Hampton, her father Benjamin Franklin Sawyers, her mother Bertha Hayre Sawyers, five brothers, one sister and one step sister; Earl, Frank, Robert, Ernest, Fred and Verda Sawyers and Pauline Hollen.
Zola was a homemaker, wife and mother. She was selfless, always putting others needs over hers. She loved her family, friends and the beauty of the world. She was a member of Little Goose Baptist Church and later got joy from going to Freedom Baptist Church. She had a love for southern gospel music, beautiful flowers and later in life taking long drives and viewing the scenery.
Funeral services for Zola Hampton will be held on Friday, February 27 at 2 PM at the Britton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Adam Hooker officiating. Burial will follow in the Manchester Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be held on Thursday evening after 6 PM at the Britton Funeral Home Chapel.
