Jarvis Lee "Sonny" Corum, 78, of Manchester passed away Tuesday September 8th, 2015.
He was a Baptist Pastor for 35 years and a retired diesel mechanic for Shamrock Coal Company.
He is survived by the following children: Chester Corum and wife Versie, Marie Becknell, Marsha Bowling and husband Paul, and Mamie Bowling and husband Jim, all of Manchester.
He is also survived by two brothers R.B. Corum, D.C. Corum, and one sister Susan Gilliam, as well as the following grandchildren: Trey Bowling and wife Shellie, Kelly Asher, Chad Corum and wife Natasha, Jarrod Becknell and wife Kayla, Jordan Marshall and husband Tyler, Corey Corum, Mindi Bowling, Brit Bowling, and Chester Jarvis Lee Corum, as well as three great grandchildren and 3 on the way.
He is preceded in death by his loving wife Betty Corum, his parents Chester and Mamie Corum, and These brothers and sisters: Mahan "Bud" Corum, Marshall Corum, Mae Corum, and Ida Bowling.
The funeral service for Sonny Corum will be held 1 PM Friday at the Britton Funeral Home Chapel with Baxter Corum, Jarrod Becknell, George David Blair, and Verlin Gray officiating. Burial will follow in the Swafford Branch Cemetery at Buzzard. Visitation will be after 6 PM Thursday at the Britton Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the Hospice of the Bluegrass.
