Alta M. Smith age 90 of Butterfly Road, Manchester passed way Wednesday September 9, 2015. she was a life long homemaker.
Ms. Smith is survived by the following children: R. J. Smith, wife Nadine of Gooserock, Wayne Smith, wife Tina of Greenville,Ga., Willie Ray Smith, wife Deanna of London, Marlene Hubbard of London, Thrersa Cotton of Manchester. Also surviving are the following brothers and sister: Orbin Smith, Gooserock, Mickey Root,of Hector, Jeff Root of Ohio, and Lois Gray of Manchester. Ms. Smith is also survived by eleven grandchildren as follows: Jerry Lee Cotton, Mary Jane Stewart, Beverly Smith, Christopher Smith, April Hubbard, Elizabeth Stevens, Patty Yaden, Crystal Combs, Travis Smith, Jared Smith and Nathaniel Smith. Nine great grandchildren survive as follows: Aaron, Riley, Justin, Brett, Brooke, Owen, Gracie, Charity and Danelle. Two great, great grandchildren survive as follows: Shayden and Aubrey
Ms. Smith was preceded in death by her son C. B. Smith, her parents George and Rula Smith Root and the following brothers and sister: Bessie Smith, Marshall Root, Vernon Smith and Wilbur Smith.
Funeral services for Alta M. Smith will be held at 11 AM Sunday September 13, 2015 at the Britton Funeral Home Chapel with Sill Lee and Danny Stewart officiating. Burial will follow in the Gooserock Cemetery.
Visitation for Alta M. Smith will be at 6:00 PM Saturday, September 12, 2015 at the Britton Funeral Home Chapel.
