Mary E. (Hudson) Lewis Rider

Mary E. (Hudson) Lewis Rider, 79, of Kissimmee, FL passed away unexpectedly on September 11, 2015. Mary was born on August 27, 1936 to Lewis and Lula (Saylor) Hudson in Manchester, Ky.

She was married to the late Homer Lewis for 54 years. Shortly after they married, they moved to Seymour Indiana where she worked at Dairy Queen and IGA Food Store, as a meat cutter. In 1968, she moved to Kissimmee, FL.\

She worked at The Osceola Sun and Mercury Marine before she and Homer opened Lewis Music in Downtown Kissimmee in 1973. Mary was a hard worker and loved being at the music store. She loved to chat with and get to know everyone who came into the store. Over the last 42 years, she has helped many people get their start in music. From beginners in school, to band directors, professional musicians, aspiring musicians and those whom wanted to play music for their own enjoyment,  Mary’s sweet spirit and kind heart touched them all.

She was a member of many civic organizations to include The Moose, Elks, Eagles, American Legion, the VFW and she was an Eastern Star.

On December 28, 2013 she married Lee Rider. Mary and Lee enjoyed traveling in their leisure time. They enjoyed trips to Las Vegas, Kentucky, the Carolinas, Indiana, Rhode Island, New York City and New Hampshire. They also enjoyed their family time and most of all, they enjoyed each other.

Mary is preceded in death by her parents and brother, Arthur Hudson. She is survived by her loving husband, Lee, son Paul (Tina) Lewis of St. Cloud, Step-daughters Donna (Tony) Lenartowicz of Lake Wales, Terri (Kerry) Heywood of Warwick, RI, brother William (Patsy) Hudson, Manchester, Ky., sister-in-law Ruby Skelton Anderson, S.C., 9 grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, Sept. 15 from 5:00 pm-8:00 pm at Osceola Memory Gardens Kissimmee.

Funeral Services will be held Wednesday Sept. 16 at 10:00 am also at Osceola Memory Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Arthritis Foundation.
