Mr. Vernon Jackson, 80 of Manchester passed away Sunday, November 15th 2015 at his home. He was a Shamrock Coal Company retiree and was affiliated with the Martins Creek United Baptist Church.
Mr. Jackson is survived by his wife Mae Jackson and one son, Chris Jackson and wife Christine.
He is also survived by two step-grandchildren; Brian Jackson and Barry Jackson, these brothers and sisters; R.P Jackson of Georgia, Fred Jackson of Knox County, A.W Jackson of Indiana and Beatrice Bales of Florida and a host of nieces and nephews.
Mr Jackson is preceded in death by his parents, Andrew and Sarah Thompson Jackson and these brothers and sisters, Tena Grubb, Willa Smith, Kermit Jackson, Don Jackson and Rufus Jackson.
The funeral service for Vernon Jackson will be held at 1 PM Wednesday, November 18th at the Britton Funeral Home Chapel with Roy Lane Woods and Brian Jackson officiating. Burial will follow in the Jackson Cemetery at Goose Rock.
The visitation will be after 6 PM Tuesday at the Britton Funeral Home Chapel.
