Mrs. Geraldine “Boots” Smith, age 82 of Blue Hole departed this life on Saturday, December 26, 2015 at the Saint Joseph Hospital in Mt. Sterling, Kentucky.
She was born on Thursday, May 18, 1933 in Clay County, Kentucky to the union of Letcher and Nettie Mills Hacker. She was a store owner and a member of the New Home Baptist Church.
She leaves to mourn her passing her son: Kenneth Letcher Smith and his wife Renee of Manchester, her daughter: Kristi Ann Garrison and her husband: Jeff of Mt. Sterling, her grandchildren: Dalia Smith Harr, Molly Smith, Annabelle Smith, Peyton Garrison and Chaney Garrison. Also surviving is her sister: Christina Bowling of Louisville, her sisters-in-law: Alma Hacker of Manchester and Delois Hubbard of Lebanon, Ohio, her special friend: Paul Hibbard, and her niece: Leslie Bowling Mudd.
She is preceded in death by her parents: Letcher and Nettie Hacker, her husband: Orville “Dobber” Smith, her brothers: Calvin Hacker and Charles Lowell Hacker and her sister: Norma Hacker.
In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations be made to Gideons International.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Geraldine “Boots” Smith will be conducted on Wednesday, December 30 at 1 P. M. at the Rominger Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Scottie Sumner and Pastor Grant Cannoy will be officiating. Burial will follow in the Cottongim Cemetery in the Cottongim Community.
Visitation will be Tuesday evening after 6 PM at the Rominger Funeral Home Chapel.
Arrangements are entrusted to the Rominger Funeral Home.
