Mr. Mendell Jones, age 70 of Ham Hollow Road in Manchester, departed this life on Tuesday, May 24, 2016 at the St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington, Kentucky. He was born on Sunday, May 27, 1945 in Manchester to the union of Gillis and Nettie Smith Jones.
He was a welder.
He leaves to mourn his passing his children: Frank Jones and his wife Bessie, Megan Jones, Tim Hatfield and his wife Penny, Kim Hatfield, and Les Henson and his wife Heather. Also surviving are his grandchildren: Gabby Brock, Darian Minton, Tyler Smith, Devin Breedlove, Rory Boggs, Jeff Boggs, Katlyn Henson, Luke Henson, Wyatt Jones, and Jacob Henson, his great grandchildren: Jace Brock, Jensen Brock, Sawyer Minton, Presley Minton, and Landen Smith as well as these brothers and sisters: Ruth Smith, Lula Jones and her husband Tommy, Bonnie Gulley, Carol Allen and her husband Kenneth, Monica Jones and her husband Ronnie, Linda Wagers and her husband Bill, and Debbie Minton and her husband T. L.
He is preceded in death by his parents: Gillis and Nettie Jones, his wife: Shirley Hatfield Jones, his granddaughter: Francheska Jones, his great granddaughter: Elizabeth, his brothers: Charles Jones, and W. P. Jones, and his sisters: Wilma Davidson and Kathy Jones.
Funeral Services for Mr. Mendell Jones will be conducted on Friday, May 27 at 1 PM at the Rominger Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Bill Wagers will be officiating. Burial will follow in the Manchester Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be held on Friday after 11 AM at the Rominger Funeral Home Chapel.
