Helen Murphy, 78, of Manchester passed away Monday, August 1, 2016 at the Manchester Memorial Hospital. She was a cook for the Clay County School System for over forty years.
Ms. Murphy is survived by her sisters Marie Hayre of Manchester, Faye Edwards and husband Gordon of Richmond, Mattie Brown and husband Leroy of Lenoir City, Tennessee and Addie Philpot of London. She is also survived by several cousins, nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents Cecil and June Murphy,she is preceded in death by two brothers; Hurla Murphy and James Daniel Murphy.
Funeral services will be held at 1 PM Friday, August 5th, 2016 at the Britton Funeral Home Chapel with Charlie Murphy Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in the Murphy Cemetery at Martins Creek.
Visitation will held at 11 AM Friday at the Britton Funeral Home.
