Sophia L. Hurdle age 84 formerly of Fairfield, Ohio currently residing in Huntersville, North Carolina passed away on Sunday, July 31, 2016, in the Levine Dickson Hospice House. She was born in Clay County, Kentucky on September 1931, the daughter of John and Rose York.
Sophia worked at Champion International Paper for 20 years retiring in 1993.
Survivors include a daughter, Rosanna (Ron) Bowling of Huntersville, North Carolina; two grandchildren, Renee (Jeremy) Agler of Tampa, Florida and Ryan (Erin) Bowling of Huntersville, North Carolina; two great-grandchildren, Emma and Ethan Bowling; two brothers, Roscoe (Ethel) and John (Glenna) York; a sister, Katherine (Alford) Johnson; a sister-in-law, B. Joyce York.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Simon York; a sister, Betty Smith Visitation will be from 12:30-1:30PM Friday in Zettler Funeral Home, 2646 Pleasant Ave., followed by Funeral services at 1:30PM Friday with Pastor Ron Bicknell officiating in the funeral home. Burial will be in Rose Hill Burial Park.
