MANCHESTER, KY (May 25, 2022) - The Kentucky State Police is reporting that a former Clay County Sheriff’s Deputy, Brandon Edwards,30 of Manchester, pleaded guilty on Tuesday in Clay County Circuit Court. This guilty plea stems from an investigation that began in January of 2020.

KINGSVILLE, MD – Maryland State Police are continuing to investigate a bus crash in which more than two dozen people were injured Sunday in Baltimore County.  Shortly before 7:00 A.M. on Sunday, troopers from the Maryland State Police JFK Memorial Highway Barrack responded to Interstate 95 South near Kingsville, Maryland for a report of a bus that overturned.

The CDC just released its preliminary estimate for overdose deaths in Kentucky last year, and the news is grim. After surging nearly 50% in 2020, overdose deaths in the Commonwealth increased by more than 13% in 2021, reaching a record of nearly 2,400.
