ARREST: Manchester Man found with Methamphetamine, Pills and Defaced Firearm by Interdiction Team doing follow-up Drug Investigations in Southeastern Kentucky

MANCHESTER, KY (May 3, 2022) - Clay County Sheriff Patrick Robinson is reporting that on May 2, 2022 at approximately 11:00 P.M. members of an Interdiction team consisting of Clay County Sheriff K9 Deputy Wes Brumley, Laurel County Sheriff Office Deputy Justin Taylor and Deputy Landry Collett arrested Charles Henson, 60 of Matt Henson Road.

CHARLES HENSON 200The arrest occurred while doing follow-up drug investigations in the Big Creek area located the above mentioned subject in a parking lot of a business off of South Highway 421 and South Highway 66 junction.

Upon making contact with the subject, Deputy Brumley noted seeing a glass pipe in plain view.

Upon search of the vehicle, K9 Deputy Brumley located a container inside the vehicle that contained a crystal like substance, blue pills and a defaced firearm.

Through confirmation with Clay County 911, it showed the subject was a convicted felon and admitted to knowing the gun was inside the vehicle.

Charles Henson was charged with:

• Possession of a Controlled Substance 1st Degree 1st Offense (Methamphetamine)
• Drug Paraphernalia Buy/Possess
• Possession of Handgun by a Convicted Felon
• Defacing a Firearm
• Possession of a Controlled Substance 2nd Degree- Drug Unspecified

This individual was lodged in the Clay County Detention Center.
