Laurel County, KY - Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Deputy John Inman arrested two individuals at Walmart near Corbin, 11 miles south of London in southern Laurel County on Sunday afternoon October 30, 2016 at approximately 12:11 PM.
Deputy Inman was dispatched to a complaint there that Walmart's loss prevention team had detained two individuals for an alleged shoplifting offense.
When Deputy Inman arrived at the scene and conducted an investigation he learned that these two individuals allegedly attempted to leave Walmart with over $283 worth of unpaid merchandise.
The two individuals arrested by Deputy Inman are identified as:
Taylor Ledford age 23 of Caldwell St., Corbin charged with theft by unlawful taking – shoplifting. This subject was also charged with promoting contraband – first-degree after being taken to the detention center, staff there found this subject in possession of a dispensed needle and 2 halves of Xanax in her undergarments.
Erica Scott age 27 of Cemetery Rd., Woodbine charged with theft by unlawful taking – shoplifting.
These two individuals were lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
