Thanksgiving greeting from Senator McConnell

We ask God to continue to provide for our needs, to watch over our country, and to protect in a special way those whose work in defending our freedoms will keep them far from home this day.’

WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell delivered the following message in celebration of the Thanksgiving holiday on November 24th:

“President George Washington proclaimed the first national Thanksgiving holiday back in 1789.

“This November, Americans will once again come together in celebration of this uniquely American tradition

“On Thanksgiving, we express our gratitude for the blessings we enjoy, the freedoms we cherish, and the loved ones who enrich our lives.

“We ask God to continue to provide for our needs, to watch over our country, and to protect in a special way those whose work in defending our freedoms will keep them far from home this day.

“I hope you and your family have a Happy Thanksgiving.”
