K9 Alert during Traffic Stop leads to arrest in Clay County

Clay County, Ky (November 6, 2019) - Sheriff Patrick Robinson is reporting that on November 4, 2019 at approximately 12:00 AM Clay County Sheriff K9 Deputy Brandon Edwards arrested William Delph, 31 of Sevier Branch.

The arrest occurred when Clay County Sheriff K9 Deputy Brandon Edwards conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for traffic infractions.

Through consent to search of the vehicle from the owner, K9 Ghost alerted to the possibility of illegal substances. Based on the K9 alert, Deputies located a suspected illegal substance and drug paraphernalia where the above mentioned subject was sitting at in the vehicle.

Also, located on the above mentioned subject was a plastic baggie containing crystalline substance.

William Delph was charged with:

• Public Intoxication of Controlled Substance (Excludes Alcohol)
• Possession of Marijuana
• Possession of a Controlled Substance 1st Degree (Methamphetamine)
• Drug Paraphernalia Buy/Possess
