Man wanted on multiple arrest warrants apprehended in Laurel County

LONDON, KY - Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's Deputy Joey Robinson with assistance from Corbin City Police arrested Robbie Baker age 41 of Steven Ln., Williamsburg, KY on Tuesday night January 21, 2020 at approximately 10:41 PM. off American Greeting Card Road, approximately 10 miles South of London after Deputy Robinson was dispatched to a complaint of a male subject allegedly attempting to kick in the door of an ex-girlfriend’s residence.

Upon arrival at the scene the suspect ran down stairs and into the woods and following a short foot chase the suspect struggled with Deputy Robinson before being taken into custody. This subject stated he saw Deputy Robinson pull in and ran off trying to get away. Deputy Robinson noted the suspect’s footprint on the door of the residence he attempted to kick in.

Robbie Baker was charged with:

  • Fleeing or evading police – second-degree – on foot
  • Criminal trespassing – third-degree
  • Criminal mischief – first-degreeResisting arrest

In addition, this subject was charged on a Laurel Circuit Court indictment warrant of arrest charging:

  • Burglary – second-degree
  • Theft by unlawful taking $500 or more but under $10,000
  • Persistent felony offender I

Also, the subject was charged on a Jefferson District Court warrant of arrest charging:

  • Escape – second-degree regarding charges filed by KSP Trooper Eric Hines

The subject was also charged on a Laurel District Court bench warrant of arrest charging:

  • Failure to appear in court on numerous violations

This individual was lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
