Oregon man found with Psychedelic Mushrooms & other Drugs at Traffic Checkpoint in southeast KY

HYDEN, KY - The Leslie County Sheriff’s Office is reporting that: On Sunday, March 8th Chief Deputy Jeremy Vega and Special Deputy Sam Roberts made a traffic stop during a safety checkpoint in the Mozelle area of Leslie County.

William Farley, 59 of Siletz, Oregon was unable to produce a valid operators license during the checkpoint.

After a search of Farley’s Nissan that had an Oregon license plate, a large amount of drugs were found in vacuum sealed bags and zip baggies.

Deputies found inside the car:

  • 12 pounds of Marijuana in both zip baggies and vacuum sealed bags labeled with weight and other information
  • 1.06 grams of a crystal white substance believed to be Crystal Methamphetamine
  • 36 Marijuana oil dab containers
  • 4 ounces of Psychedelic Mushrooms packaged in two ounce baggies
  • A glass smoking pipe
  • A Bersa handgun
  • $1400 cash

Farley was arrested and is lodged at the Leslie County Detention Center.

William Scott Farley was charged with:

  • Operating on suspended or revoked operators license
  • Possession of Marijuana
  • Possession of Controlled Substance, 1st Degree, Methamphetamine
  • Drug Paraphernalia Buy-Possess
  • Trafficking in Marijuana >5 pounds
  • Trafficking in Controlled Substance, 2nd Degree
