Assault/Robbery in Clay County, Ky has resulted in death of well liked U.S. Army Veteran, Russell Knuckles

Manchester, KY - A Manchester man is dead as a result of injuries from an assault/robbery that occurred during the evening hours of Saturday, March 14, 2020 in the parking lot of a business on south Highway 421 in Clay County.

According to family members, Russell Knuckles age 64 was severely beaten and robbed of an undetermined amount of cash by an unknown individual(s) after leaving from a business on south Highway 421. The family believes that the assailant(s) put Russell in a vehicle and dumped him out at another business on south Highway 421.

He was airlifted to the UK Albert B. Chandler Hospital in Lexington where he subsequently died on Tuesday, March 24, 2020 due to injuries from the assault.

Russell, a U.S. Army Veteran and a retired truck driver was a lifelong resident of Bell and Clay County, KY.

His family is asking anyone with knowledge or information of any kind regarding the assault to please report it.
