KSP Death Investigation after Body of Murdered Woman Discovered in a Kentucky Waterway

Shelbyville, KY – On June 3, 2020, Kentucky State Police, Frankfort Post was contacted just before 3:00 PM in reference to a body that was found in Clear Creek located in Shelby County.

The initial investigation indicates that a man kayaking on Clear Creek came upon an unidentified body while fishing. He proceeded to contact the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office who arrived on scene. KSP Post 12 Detectives arrived shortly after to conduct the investigation.

The preliminary investigation led to identify the female as Liliana Moss, age 28 of Nassau County, NY. The Shelby County Coroner pronounced Ms. Moss deceased at the scene. The deceased was transported to the State Medical Examiner’s Office in Louisville where an autopsy was performed this morning at 8:00 AM.

As a result of the investigation, it was determined that William Dodd, age 28 of Anderson, IN, was responsible for the death of Liliana Moss.

Mr. Dodd was charged with:

  • Murder
  • Tampering with Physical Evidence
  • Abuse of a Corpse

KSP was assisted on scene by the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office, the Shelby County Coroner, Shelby County Fire Rescue, Kentucky Fish and Wildlife.

The investigation is ongoing by Post 12 Detective Jason Briscoe.
