Manchester Police locate large bag of suspected Marijuana during Investigation at Traffic Stop in Clay County, Ky.

MANCHESTER, KY (October 21, 2020) - The Manchester Police Department is reporting that: On Tuesday, October 20, 2020 at around 11:30 P.M. Sgt. Jeff Couch and K-9 Officer Ryan Jackson conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for rear license plate not illuminated.

During the investigation officers learned the vehicle did not have any paper work and the driver was suspended.

Upon speaking with the driver officers gained consent to search the vehicle, Sgt. Couch located a clear plastic baggie under the driver side floor mat with a green leafy substance inside believed to be Marijuana, also officer Jackson located a large bag of green leafy substance inside the trunk under the spare tire believed to be Marijuana. During the investigation officers determined the driver was under the influence,

Tony Hoskins age 55 of Manchester was charged with:

  • Rear license not illuminated
  • Operating on Suspended/revoked operator’s license
  • Failure to wear seatbelt
  • Oper mtr. vehicle U/Influ. Cont. sub-1st.
  • Failure to produce insurance card
  • Failure of owner to maintain req. Insurance
  • No/expired registration plates/receipt
  • Possession of Marijuana

This individual was lodged in the Clay County Detention Center.
