Drugs Located During "Recovered Stolen Property" Arrest in Laurel County, Kentucky near London

LONDON, KY - Laurel County Sheriff John Root along with Laurel Sheriff's Deputy Brad Mink arrested Ernie Lee Anderson age 46 of James Harris Cemetery Rd., London on Friday morning December 11, 2020 at approximately 11:45 AM.

The arrest occurred off James Harris Cemetery Road off East Pittsburg Church Rd. approximately 2 miles north east of London following an investigation conducted by Deputy Brad Mink who investigated the theft of numerous power tools and equipment from a construction site on Highway 30 on December 9.

Video surveillance was obtained and information released on the Sheriff's office Facebook page and information was developed on a possible suspect who was located on Friday morning at his residence on James Harris Cemetery Road.

Tools recovered

The recovered stolen items were brought to the Laurel County Sheriff's office and released to the lawful owner

Laurel Sheriff's investigators located the stolen property and also found the suspect in possession of:

  • Suspected Methamphetamine
  • Glass pipes
  • Plastic straws
  • Baggies
  • Scales
  • Marijuana

The suspect stated he had stolen the items and had damaged containers at the construction site.

The suspect stated that he had stolen the items to support his drug habit.

Ernie Lee Anderson was charged with:

  • Theft by unlawful taking $500 or more but under $10,000
  • Criminal mischief – second-degree
  • Possession of a controlled substance – first-degree – second offense – Methamphetamine
  • Possession of Drug paraphernalia
  • Possession of Marijuana

This individual was lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
