Hyden, Kentucky Man Wanted on Indictment Warrant in Clay County Arrested for DUI at Injury Traffic Crash in Laurel County

LONDON, KY - Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's Deputy Brent France along with CSO Brian France arrested Glenn R. Campbell age 71 of Hyden, KY on Wednesday night March 24, 2021 at approximately 10:02 PM.

The arrest occurred on Hal Rogers Parkway at Abbuhl Road., approximately 5 miles west of London after deputies were dispatched to an injury traffic crash on West Hal Rogers Pkwy.

Upon arrival at the scene deputies located this individual still sitting in his black Dodge Dakota. Deputies learned through investigation that apparently this individual pulled out in front of another vehicle causing serious injury to an occupant in the other vehicle.

Deputies conducted an investigation determining that this individual operating the Dodge Dakota was under the influence. This individual was transported to St. Joseph Hospital London for treatment of possible injuries.

Following his release from the hospital, Glenn R. Campbell was charged with:

  • Operating a motor vehicle under the influence – first offense
  • Careless driving
  • Assault – second-degree
  • Failure to wear seatbelts
  • Failure to yield right-of-way

In addition, this subject was charged on a Clay Circuit Court indictment warrant of arrest charging:

  • Possession of a Controlled substance – first-degree – first offense
  • Wanton endangerment – first-degree

This individual was lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
