Complaint: Female Had Found an Unknown Male Subject Inside Her Vehicle

LONDON, KY (March 30, 2021) - Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's Deputy Travis Napier along with Lieut. Chris Edwards, K-9 Deputy Jake Miller, Deputy Brent France, and K-9/ shift Sgt. Gary Mehler arrested Brian Keith Petrie age 35 of Roy Overbay Rd., London on Tuesday afternoon March 30, 2021 at approximately 2:36 PM.

The arrest occurred off Hal Rogers Parkway approximately 5 miles west of London after deputies were dispatched to a complaint that a female had found an unknown male subject inside her vehicle off Somerset Road and had confronted him.

The male subject shoved the female to the ground and fled the scene running.

Deputies were able to locate the male suspect in the vicinity on the Hal Rogers Parkway and identified him through her description, taking him into custody without incident.

This individual was also determined to be under the influence.

Brian Keith Petrie was charged with:

  • Attempted robbery – second-degree
  • Public intoxication – Controlled substances

This individual was lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
