COMPLAINT: Female in Middle of Roadway Blocking an Ambulance Transporting a Patient

LONDON, KY - Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's Deputy Hobie Daugherty along with shift Sgt. John Inman arrested Melissa A. Campbell of London on Thursday night June 3, 2021 at approximately 11:39 PM.

The arrest occurred on West Cumberland Gap Parkway approximately 12 miles South of London after deputies were dispatched to a disturbance complaint there concerning a female subject in the middle of the roadway blocking an ambulance transporting a patient to a local hospital.

Upon arrival at the scene deputies conducted an investigation and determined that this subject was under the influence.

They also learned that allegedly this individual had attempted to make entry into a service station nearby earlier.

This individual was also wanted on outstanding warrants.

Melissa Campbell was charged with:

  • Public intoxication – controlled substances
  • Obstructing governmental operations
  • Obstructing a highway
  • Disorderly conduct – second-degree

This individual was also charged on a Laurel District Court bench warrant of arrest charging failure to appear in court on charges of:

  • Public intoxication – controlled substances

In addition, this subject was charged on a Laurel District Court bench warrant of arrest charging failure to appear in court on charges of:

  • Public intoxication – controlled substances

This individual was lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
