DRUG TRAFFICKING ARREST: LSO Deputies Seize Opiates along with Large Amount of Methamphetamine at a Residence off Highway 1223 near Corbin, Kentucky

LONDON, KY (September 28, 2021) - Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's Deputy Justin Taylor along with Deputy Landry Collett and Deputy Tommy Houston arrested Jim Riley Allen age 41 of South Highway 1223, Corbin on Monday night September 27, 2021 at approximately 11:59 PM.

LSO logo 200The arrest occurred off KY 1223 approximately 10 miles South of London after deputies executed a complaint warrant of arrest for drug trafficking of methamphetamine following an investigation conducted by Sheriff's investigators.

Sheriff's deputies earlier had located Allen in a dark blue minivan and found him in possession of suspected Methamphetamine and Oxycodone.

As the investigation continued investigators determined that this subject had a large amount of Methamphetamine at his residence off Highway 1223.

This individual was found in possession of approximately 1 pound of suspected methamphetamine, digital scales, and hypodermic syringes.

Jim Riley Allen (right) was charged on a complaint warrant obtained by Laurel Sheriff's Deputy Justin Taylor charging:

  • Trafficking in a controlled substance – first-degree – first offense – Methamphetamine
  • Trafficking in a controlled substance – first-degree – first offense – Opiates
  • Possession of drug paraphernalia
  • Possession of a controlled substance – first-degree – first offense – Methamphetamine
  • Possession of a controlled substance – second-degree

This individual was lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
