Two Parole Violators taken into Custody after Foot Chase in Laurel County, Kentucky

LONDON, KY - Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's Deputy Dustin Saylor arrested two individuals while attempting to execute a Kentucky parole violation warrant at a residence off Dollie Miller Road, approximately 5 miles north of London on Monday evening, September 27, 2021 at approximately 5:00 PM.

As Deputy Saylor pulled into the driveway there, two female subjects attempted to flee running through a field there.

Following a brief foot pursuit one female subject was detained and identified as Brigette Philpot, a wanted parole violator.

Following a search in the vicinity, the second female subject was located hiding in a brush pile behind a barn there.  She was identified as Rikki Walden and was also determined to be a parole violator.

The subjects stated they ran because they knew they had an outstanding warrant.

The two arrested individuals were identified as:

Rikki D. Walden age 31 of Dollie Miller Road, East Bernstadt, KY charged with:

  • Fleeing or evading police – second-degree – on foot

This individual was also charged on a Kentucky Parole Board parole violation warrant charging:

  • Absconding parole supervision
  • Failure to attend treatment for substance abuse regarding a conviction in Bell County Circuit Court on charges of:
    1. Possession of a controlled substance – first-degree – first offense – Methamphetamine

Brigette A. Philpot age 27 of Dollie Miller Road, East Bernstadt, KY charged with:

  • Fleeing or evading police – second-degree – on foot

In addition this subject was charged on a Kentucky Parole Board parole violation warrant charging:

  • Absconding parole supervision
  • Failure to complete treatment for substance abuse
  • Failure to report change in home address to parole officer
  • Failure to report to parole officer as directed
  • Failure to comply with any medical or mental health treatment
  • Possession of a controlled substance – Methamphetamines
  • Possession of a controlled substance regarding a conviction in Laurel Circuit Court on charges of:
    1. Possession of a controlled substance – first-degree – first offense – Methamphetamine
    2. Burglary third-degree

These two individuals were lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
