Impersonating a Peace Officer Arrest on Underpass Road in Laurel County, Kentucky

LONDON, KY (October 1, 2021) - Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's K-9 Deputy Jake Miller along with Deputy Dustin Saylor arrested Cody Dickerson age 27 of Lily on Tuesday night September 28, 2021 at approximately 9:47 PM.

The arrest occurred on Underpass Road approximately 6 miles South of London after deputies were dispatched to a complaint of subjects stopping in front of residences in the area not their own.

When deputies arrived in the vicinity they located a suspect and learned through investigation that he had two outstanding warrants.

In addition the subject represented himself as a law enforcement officer.

Upon arrest this individual failed to comply with deputies commands but was taken into custody.

Cody Dickerson was charged with:

  • Impersonating a peace officer
  • Resisting arrest

In addition, this subject was charged on a Laurel District Court bench warrant of arrest charging failure to appear in court on charges of:

  • Public intoxication – controlled substances
  • Trespassing – third-degree
  • Terroristic threatening – third-degree

In addition this subject was charged on a second Laurel District Court bench warrant of arrest charging failure to appear in court on charges of:

  • Public intoxication – controlled substances

This individual was lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
