Theft suspects apprehended off Highway1376 in Laurel County, Kentucky after attempting to flee Police

LONDON, KY (May 4, 2022) - Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's Deputy Travis Napier along with K-9/shift Sgt. Gary Mehler arrested two individuals on Tuesday night May 3, 2022 at approximately 7:54 PM.

The arrests occurred off Highway 1376 approximately 4 miles north of London after deputies were dispatched to a possible theft there.

Upon arrival at the scene deputies learned that the suspects had left the residence and traveled to a residence across the road.

As deputies approached that residence a male and female subject fled out the back door running a short distance before being detained.

Deputies conducted an investigation and learned that allegedly the female suspect had taken a 43 inch TV from a female subject and also taken two gold and diamond rings and a gold chain from another female subject there and had pawned the items at a local pawnshop in London.

The male suspect there was determined to be under the influence and found in possession of a hypodermic needle.

The two arrested individuals were identified as:

Karen Marie Gregory age 20 of West Highway 1376, East Bernstadt charged with:

  • Theft by unlawful taking $1000 or more but under $10,000
  • Fleeing or evading police – second-degree – on foot

Tyler E. Miller age 25 of US Highway 25W, Corbin charged with:

  • Fleeing or evading police – second-degree – on foot
  • Public intoxication – controlled substances
  • Possession of drug paraphernalia
  • Possession of marijuana

These two individuals were lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
