SCHOOL BOARD INCUMBANTS FOR DISTRICTS 1 AND 3 IN CLAY COUNTY, KENTUCKY FACING CHALLENGERS GOING INTO THE NOVEMBER ELECTION

MANCHESTER, KY (June 8, 2022) - Tuesday, June 7, 2022 at 4:00 P.M. was the deadline to register for a Clay County School Board membership in District number 1 and District number 3 for the upcoming 2022 election.

According to Clay County Clerk Beverly Craft's office, the incumbents in both Districts are facing opponents in the November 8, 2022 Election.

In District number 1,  Dustin Swafford, Daniel Henson, and James Davis are attempting to unseat current member Anthony Lovett.

In District number 3,  Erica Stevens is attempting to unseat current member Leewood Cornett.

The drawing for Ballot positions will be held on Thursday at the Clay County Clerk's office in Manchester.

Currently there are four ways for voters to cast their ballot but this could change.

1. In-person, Excused, Absentee Early Voting before Election Day, October 26th - 28th, 2022 and October 31st - November 2nd, 2022
2. In-person, No-excuse, Absentee Early Voting before Election Day, November 3rd - 5th, 2022
3. In-person on Election Day, November 8th, 2022
4. By Mail-in Absentee ballot (return by mail or ballot drop-box). Mail-in absentee portal dates: 09/24/2022 through 10/25/2022​
