CORBIN, KENTUCKY WOMAN WANTED ON WARRANT OF ARREST FACING DOZENS OF CHARGES IN LAUREL COUNTY AFTER BEING TAKEN INTO CUSTODY IN KNOX CO.

LONDON, KY - Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's Detective Robert Reed arrested Wanda L. Evans age 57 of Corbin on Friday morning September 16, 2022 at approximately 11:15 AM.

The arrest occurred in Knox County (on a Laurel Sheriff’s Office case) and the accused was transported to London and charged following an investigation conducted by the Laurel County Sheriff's office into a forgery and theft complaint.

Wanda Evans was charged with:

  • 67 counts of forgery – first-degree
  • 42 counts of theft by unlawful taking over $500 but under $1000

In addition, this subject was charged on a complaint warrant of arrest obtained by Detective Robert Reed charging:

  • Four counts of theft by unlawful taking $1000 or more but under $10,000
  • Six counts of theft by unlawful taking $500 or more but under $1000

This individual was lodged in the Laurel County Correctional center.

Assisting on the case was: Laurel Sheriff’s Shift Sgt. Brett Reeves and Deputy Zach Allen.

Also assisting was Knox County Deputy Sam Mullins and Deputy Carl Bolton.

Laurel Sheriff’s Detective Robert Reed, the case officer, continues to investigate.
