Foul Odor Complaints result in Discovery of Deceased Stearns, Kentucky Resident & Arrest of Pine Knot Suspect in McCreary County Missing Person Investigation

STEARNS, KY (October 14, 2022) – The Kentucky State Police is reporting that on Sunday, September 18, 2022 at approximately 7:00 P.M. KSP Post 11, London was contacted by the McCreary County Sheriff's Office after they discovered the body of a deseased person. 

The body of Justin C. Musgrove, 32, of Stearns, KY was found by the McCreary County Sheriff's Office in a wooded area behind a church after receiving complaints of a foul odor in the area.

The preliminary investigation revealed Musgrove had been entered as missing by the McCreary County Sheriff's Office on Sunday, September 11, 2022.

Following further investigation, KSP Detectives arrested David D. King, 52, of Pine Knot, KY on Friday, October 14, 2022.

David King (right) was charged with:

  • Manslaughter 2nd Degree
  • Tampering with Physical Evidence
  • Wanton Endangerment 1st Degree

This individual was lodged in the Knox County Detention Center.
